About Us
A hideaway inspired by the Mayan god of wind
The wind, represented by the Mayan god IK’, symbolizes freedom, movement, and transformation. Located on the shores of the Bay of Chetumal and near the historic archaeological site of Oxtankah, IK’ is an intimate house with only 7 rooms offering personalized experience.
Connection with Nature Without Losing Comfort
The Bay of Chetumal is a privileged setting, home to an impressive variety of flora and fauna. Majestic manatees inhabit its calm waters, and in its mangroves, numerous bird species find refuge. Guests may also have the opportunity to spot dolphins in certain areas, making this environment a true natural sanctuary. This intimate connection with nature allows visitors to reconnect with nature without sacrificing modern comfort.
From Market to Table: An Authentic Culinary Experience
At IK’, local flavors take center stage. Our dishes, sourced directly from local markets, offer guests the chance to savor the traditional cuisine of Chetumal. Among the most representative dishes are cochinita pibil, relleno negro, queso relleno, fresh seafood from the bay, and the traditional tamal de xpelón, all prepared with fresh local ingredients that highlight the richness and freshness of Mayan cuisine.
Discovering the Richness of Mexican Distillates and Liqueurs
At IK’, guests can enjoy an honest bar with a selection of Mexican spirits and liqueurs, including tequila, mezcal, bacanora, sotol, rum, whisky, gin, and the iconic Xtabentún, along with innovative options like corn and orange liqueur.
